Sunday, December 9, 2007 was a special day for Alabaster and many others.  The 3rd annual "Christmas Fest" fundraiser was held at Maplewood Presbyterian Church (Greensburg) from 12:30 - 4:00. Nine special local business owners displayed & shared their wonderful products while Alabaster performers (dressed Victorian-style) shared many Christmas favorites.
A Silent Auction, along with the opportunity to purchase/ order unique items from the various businesses, allowed for early, one-stop Christmas shopping.
We thank the following participating businesses ... Chef Dato (Tin Lizzy Restaurant, Youngstown, PA), Sand Hill Berries (Mt. Pleasant), Curly Willow (Greensburg), Tastefully Simple (Laurie VanArsdale, Scottdale), Pampered Chef (Beth Planinsek, Latrobe), Ice House Bakery (Greensburg), Lia Sophia Jewelry (Jill Jackson, Greensburg), Southern Living at Home (Joy Klohonatz, Greensburg), and Mary Kay Cosmetics (Nancy Baith, Ligonier) along with all those who so graciously supported us through their presence and donations.

Letter written to Alabaster by a prisoner
at Loretto Federal Correctional Institution
following a recent performance.

Dear Friends,

I wish to thank you so very much for coming out to our prison and performing "Magdalene" for us.  I really enjoyed the performance a lot, and am sure others here did too, since many of the men were talking about it the next day.  This was the second time I've been blessed to see your shows, the first being "John the Baptist', and have enjoyed the WORD you bring us as much as the songs and dances.
When one is in prison, each day drags on, and we experience little joy, positive excitement, or things out of the ordinary.  But I can honestly say that when you perform for us it brings a ray of hope, a Light from God, and makes the evening fly by much faster.  Please pass on my very sincere thanks to Mary, Ricardo & Pat.  If you all aren't sent as God's Blessings, then there aren't any blessings left.  Even razor wire and guns can't keep God out!
My prayers are with you all, and my hope is you'll brighten my day again soon with a return visit to FCI Loretto, PA.

                                                                                              In Christ's Love & Light!

Mid-February through early March (2007) Alabaster presented its Joan of Arc Production
at various churches throughout the Greensburg Diocese
St. Barbara - Harrison City     St. Therese - Uniontown      St. Timothy - Smithton

LEFT:  The stage was set for Alabaster's Production of Joan of Arc in the newly renovated sanctuary of St. Therese Church in Unontown.  Over 200 people enjoyed the performance on Feb. 26.

Alabaster continues its mission of bringing hope, joy & help to Seniors, the sick, the homeless, the lonely & imprisoned...

Ethel's normal smile, sense of humor and energetic attitude had dimished due to her need for some important dental work.  On a fixed income and without a car, she was unable to take care of this problem herself.  Alabaster contacted someone they knew would want to make a difference and provided transportation to Dr. Maria Cavalier's office.  Within a week, her smile returned thanks to Dr. Maria, her staff and others who cared.

During the month of February (2007), Alabaster was on the road again bringing their live concerts to Senior Centers, Nursing Homes, hospital rooms and anywhere else their music could brighten someone's day.

Residents of a Hempfield Senior Complex enjoyed a concert of "Love Songs & Valentines" on Friday, Feb. 9.  Mary & Rick's duet of Bring It On Home got the group tapping their feet while the rendition of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B brought back memories and 'dance steps'.
